Memorial service for David Paul Tinsley

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 29, for David Paul Tinsley, who was born and raised in Menlo Park and graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School. He died May 25 with his wife by his side, after a three-year battle with lung cancer. He was 40.

I remember Tinsley as an intense competitor on the field. More than that sports, I recall a very nice and funny young man... always laughing and making me laugh as well. Mostly laughing at ourselves. Never taking ourselves too seriously.

Off the field I can not recall a time where he wasn't smiling. I will always remember him this way.
