Menlo Park school burglar sentenced

After pleading no contest to burglary charges in connection with local school break-ins, Jaime Maldanado, 20, was sentenced Thursday to 16 months in county jail, with credit for 32 days served, the San Mateo County district attorney's office said.
The Menlo Park man broke into the Hillview, Laurel, and German-American International schools along with at least two teenagers during a single week in September. Their ill-gotten loot included 26 iPads and $400, although Hillview Middle School recovered 12 of its tablet computers.
He was arrested after a police dog provided incentive to surrender at the scene of the Laurel Elementary School break-in.
Mr. Maldanado also owes $360 in fines. At the time of arrest he was on probation for possessing stolen property in Santa Clara County, and also faces similar charges for somehow finding himself with 10 laptops stolen from the Palo Alto Unified School District.

Compare that to how fast/slow the legal system works for Corporations, bankers, politicians and others of the wealthy class.

So lock your doors cause this guy will be out in 8 months! Here's the real deal Almanac can't you get the facts right!
Jaime Loya Maldanado will serve the time in Maguire Correctional Facility under the newly enforced realignment housing guidelines that require him to be incarcerated in the county jail.
He will serve approximately eight months of the term, said District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
The sentence is “appropriate considering he is a young guy without a lengthy record,” Wagstaffe said.
Maldanado pleaded no contest to the two felonies Thursday morning rather than set a new preliminary hearing date.
