Sequoia race: Olivia Martinez moves into third place
She moves ahead of Rumley by 53 votes

Olivia Martinez, one of two incumbents who ran for re-election to the board of the Sequoia Union High School District, has displaced her fellow incumbent Lorraine Rumley for the third spot in the race for three open seats. according to the latest count.

An updated tally from the San Mateo County Elections Office, puts Ms. Martinez 53 votes ahead of Ms. Rumley, essentially reversing their positions as reported in the first update.

Ms. Martinez now has 12,357 votes, or 19.2 percent, and Ms. Rumley 12,304, or 19.1 percent, as of Tuesday evening, Nov. 15. The next and final update is expected at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17.

The percentages were essentially unchanged for challengers Carrie B. Du Bois (25 percent) and Allen S. Weiner (22 percent), who remain in first and second place with 16,233 and 14,335 votes, respectively.

Larry James Moody of East Palo Alto, the third challenger in the race, saw his fifth-place tally rise by roughly 1,000 votes to 9,062.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0!!!!! It can't be possible that this person is going to return for an upteenth term on the Board! What a nightmare and a total embarrassment for the SUHSD.

I'm delighted that Ms Martinez has won her seat back. Apparently, the Mr. Boyce or The Almanac is not . . look at the amazing discrepancy in size and location of the "winner" v. "loser" photos in the above report. Something backwards here!

The technical problem at the Alamance is that it is about as far away unbiased reporting as possible – and the level of reporting.
