More and more big double trailered trucks are coming up the mountain roads, some maintained by the Town of woodside, others by CalTrans. All maintained with taxpayer dollars. These trucks are destroying HYW 84 and have caused multiple accidents. We think the reason the number of trucks using these roads has increased so dramatically is the advancements in GPS and increase on prices of petrol. These trucks should be regulated to single tailers and specific hours of the day, along with a higher level of expertise to drive these dangerous roads. Or, we will keep paying for the extra problems these trucks bring toour society.

With the increased use of GPS, truck drivers sometimes feel that any line on the screen is a viable route. The idea of a tractor trailer truck on Old La Honda Road is laughable, if it weren't so dangerous. We need regulations for size of trucks allowed on Old La Honda as well as La Honda Road (Hwy 84). Large trucks have long been a problem on 84 because they cannot stay in their lane during the switchbacks and fill the entire roadway.

Hopefully this incident will once again focus attention on the issue. The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors has decided that "something" needs to be done about large trucks on these mountain roads, but so far that something has not translated into action.
